Advise and support

Our service is designed specifically for the Ukrainian community.

Your First Point of Contact: Culturally Aware Guidance. Our Generalist Advisers are familiar with the social and cultural backgrounds of both Ukraine and the UK. They don't just provide information; they offer tailored advice that considers your unique perspective, helping you adapt to life in the UK with confidence.

Specialist Advice from Our Partners

  • Work, Housing & Immigration: Get expert advice from Citizens Advice volunteers. Please be aware that these sessions are conducted in English only.

  • Benefits & Job Search: Receive dedicated support from a DWP adviser. While the session will be in English, the adviser has a good understanding of Ukrainian, which can help ensure everything is clear.

All our online sessions are held using Google Meet. To help you get the most out of your scheduled time, we kindly ask you to prepare the following:

  • A Quiet Space: Please join the call from a private, quiet location to ensure you can speak freely and without interruptions.

  • A Stable Internet Connection: A reliable connection will prevent dropped calls and make communication smoother.

  • A PC or Laptop (Strongly Recommended): It is often necessary to share your screen to review documents or fill out a form together. This is much easier to do on a computer than on a phone.

UPE support

Support with the Ukraine Permission Extension (UPE) Scheme

Our UPE support service is designed to help the Ukrainian community navigate the transition to the new permission scheme. Our trained volunteers can provide guidance and direct assistance with your application.

We offer two types of support; please choose the one that best suits your needs.

General Advice Session (30 minutes)

This short, online session is perfect if you have specific questions about the UPE scheme. Our volunteers can answer Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and provide clarity on general points.

One-to-One Support  Session (90 minutes)

This is a dedicated session where a volunteer will guide you through filling out the UPE application form from start to finish.

Important Booking Information for One-to-One Sessions

To ensure we can provide the best possible support, please read the following booking policy carefully:

  • One Person Per Session: A 90-minute session (1 hour 30 minutes) is the time required to complete an application for one individual.

  • Family or Group Applications: If you need to apply for more than one person (e.g., for you and your children), you must book a separate 90-minute session for each individual.
