Seeking a Communications Volunteer for the Ukrainian Community in Brighton & Hove!

Are you energetic, organised, and eager to help? Do you have a desire to support the Ukrainian community in Brighton & Hove by providing them with vital information about available services? Then this opportunity is for you!

About Us:

We are Stand for U (formerly Stand for Ukraine Brighton and Hove), a local charity that has been supporting Ukraine and Ukrainians since the start of the full-scale invasion. We don't just send humanitarian aid to Ukraine; we actively support the local community and promote Ukrainian culture in Brighton & Hove.

Most of the Ukrainian community in Brighton & Hove already knows us and has received our help! This is because we regularly run:

• Weekly drop-ins

• Online consultations

• Webinars

• Various community events

Our goal is for everyone who needs help to have access to available resources and services.

Your Role:

As a Communications Volunteer, you will play a key role in disseminating information about our services. Your responsibilities may include:

• Assisting in the creation and distribution of informational materials (leaflets, social media posts).

• Communicating with members of the Ukrainian community to understand their information needs.

• Explaining the nature of available services and assisting with their booking.

• Coordinating with other volunteers and organisations for effective information dissemination.

• Assisting in the organisation of information events and meetings.

We Are Looking For:

• A volunteer with excellent communication skills.

• An organised and responsible individual.

• Someone who is fluent in Ukrainian (critical) and English (preferred).

• An empathetic and sensitive person who understands the needs of the Ukrainian community.

• Someone who is willing to dedicate a few hours per week to this important cause.

• Proficiency in Telegram and WhatsApp as primary communication channels.

• Basic skills with Facebook and Instagram would be an advantage (if you don't have them, we will train you!).
